What it is for
Trains the foundation of everything: finding the note and keeping it still. Holding a steady pitch builds breath support and shows whether your voice drops (or rises) as you run out of air.

How to do this vocal exercise
- Choose the level: it sets the tolerance (how far off you can be and still count as in tune) and the tempo.
- Without headphones, listen to the whole phrase and sing after the count-in. With headphones, sing along with the soft reference.
- Each repetition moves the phrase up a semitone, to the top of your range, and then back down. On the voice line, green means in tune and orange means off the note.
