Singing

The singing area brings together a vocal range test (the lowest and highest notes you can hold), a voice tuner that shows the note you sing and how many cents off it is, 9 pitch exercises (vocal warm-ups) and games to play alone or with friends. Everything uses the microphone, is analysed on your own device and nothing is recorded.

You haven’t measured your range yet. Start with the test: it takes about 2 minutes.

Looking after your voice

Warm up before singing (humming with your mouth closed, lip trills), drink water while you practise and don’t push the extremes: if it hurts, scratches or tires you out, stop and rest. The app helps you train your pitch but doesn’t replace a singing teacher, and hoarseness or pain that won’t go away calls for a voice specialist.

Frequently asked questions

Can you learn to sing in tune?

Yes. Pitch is ear training plus control: hear the note, sing it and check whether you hit it. With a few minutes a day of exercises with visual feedback, most people improve within a few weeks.

Where should I start?

With the vocal range test: it shows your lowest and highest notes, your likely voice type and your comfortable range. The exercises use that range to start and finish at the right pitch for you.

Do I need any equipment?

Just the microphone on your phone or computer. Headphones help in the exercises (the reference plays along with you), but they are not required.

Is my voice recorded?

No. Everything happens on your device: the sound is analysed on the fly and never recorded or sent. Your range and scores are stored only in this browser.
